Girls In Tech Founders Launch New App To Make Tech Knowledge More Accessible
Today at SXSW Sydney, Matched announced its new product with a global mission to make knowledge more accessible. The new app matches Learners with Trainers based on shared work and life interests using AI.
The app is a socio-economic equaliser, matching Learners with Trainers based on shared interests so people of all backgrounds can reach their goals of a new role, industry transition, or even running a half marathon, faster.
Matched Founders, Jessica Box and Susan He, saw a gap in the market through their work with Girls in Tech’s Australian community of 50K+, with underrepresented groups finding it hard to open closed doors to access opportunities and experience.
Recognising that one person can’t give you all you need for success in work and life, Matched puts the power in the hands of all professionals to build their community of advisors.
Learners will be able to choose between group or 1:1 sessions, to arm themselves with the tools needed to achieve their goals. Trainers can make money for their time or give back by supporting underrepresented groups for free.
On stage at SXSW, Box also announced global leaders from Snap, TEDx, Culture Amp, Graphite, Girls in Tech, Linktree and more as Master Trainers.
Those who join the waitlist will gain exclusive access to their career stories, including successes and failures you won’t find anywhere else on the internet.
Box and He met during Box’s time as Managing Director for Girls in Tech Australia. They then went on to lead growth and product at Linktree from bootstrapped to +$1bn in value.
“I’ve long been frustrated by the inequality in opportunities given they’re solely reliant on the people you meet and your 9-5. I’ve been fortunate to have many opportunities by dabbling in paid and volunteer work to achieve the goals I’m passionate about. Our vision for Matched is to give that same opportunity to everyone who earns a living, at a time when Gen Z are exploring portfolio careers as creators and less concerned with a 9-5. To make this happen we won’t designate individuals as a Learner or Trainer only, which broadens the opportunity for growth in learning from someone while also mastering your skills by paying it forward” Box said.
“I’m passionate about Matched’s vision as it’s important to me to pay it forward and pass on the experience I have. I was blessed to have a great manager during my time at Facebook and again at Snap. They created the benchmark for me and I’m trying to live up to that same standard. This isn’t the way for everyone, so I’m excited to be a Master Trainer and help change that for current and future generations to come” Konstantinos Papamiltiadis (KP), VP of Partnerships at Snap, added.
The Master Trainer’s announced today are below, with more to follow in the coming months:
- Ethan Smith – Founder & CEO of Graphite, building growth engines for Masterclass, Robinhood and Medium
- Adriana Gascoigne – Founder & CEO of Girls in Tech, global non-profit with 50+ chapters around the world
- Konstantinos Papamiltiadis (KP) – VP of Platform & Partnerships at Snap, previously 9 years at Meta
- Erika Cramer – Author, Founder of Queen of Confidence and host of The Confidence Chronicles, a podcast with 2M downloads
- Jon Yeo – Curator at TEDx, founder of Brightstar, speaker and influence coach
- Kate Dinon – VP of Brand & Comms for Culture Amp, founded multiple agencies between London and Australia
- Anthony Zaccaria – Co-Founder of Linktree, link in bio platform with 40M+ customers
